Philip Sidney Wastes Time on Twitter while Trying to Write a Killer Blog

Researching in truth, and fain in blogs my love to show,
That they (who’s they?),  might take some pleasure of my pain,
Pleasure might cause them read, reading might make them know,
Knowledge might follows win, (and likes and shares obtain)—
I sought fit words to make the content SEO;
Searching GIF gall’ries fine their wits to entertain,
Oft clicking others’ blogs, to see if thence would flow
Some fresh and viral clickbait upon my screen-burn’d brain.
But words came halting forth, lacking Creativity’s stay;
Creativity (Google’s adopted child) fled step-sis Writer’s Block;
And others’ tweets still seem’d but strangers in my way.
Thus great with child to post—(and wasting time looking for a meme of that…)
Tapping my truant keyboard, beating myself for spite,
“Fool,” tweeted the fake Twitter account of me to me…

so much #writerslife

(A parody of Sidney’s first poem of Astrophel and Stella, a sonnet series composed in the late 16th century.)
